Defiance is a community of all types of people supporting one another in their fitness journey.

Defiance Strength & Conditioning is located in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley.  We are blessed to live in one of the most active, scenic and outstanding recreational hubs in the world.  This provides endless amounts of outdoor opportunities throughout the entire year; including our renowned skiing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, rafting and mountain biking-to name a few!

The heart of our programming at Defiance Strength & Conditioning is longevity.  With incredible athletic and recreational interests around, how do we keep our clients and athletes healthy and functional for their sport and for the rest of their lives?  

“Healthy and functional” varies by degree from person to person depending on who they are and what their goals might be.   Our definition of “healthy and functional” is to be able to perform daily tasks without pain.  These tasks include getting in and out of the car, getting on and off the ground and keeping up with your children.  However, daily tasks in our community also include climbing up mountains with your children and riding down those mountains.  Living in such a unique community, it is our goal to prepare you for all of these tasks.      

The foundation of our program is applicable for all individuals no matter their age, background, or goal. Defiance is blessed to be the home of an incredible community of people whose ages range from 8 to the age of 79.  As with most outdoor communities the majority of our members have had some kind of “injury” or surgery in the far or recent past.  We have members who have elite physical endurance goals that include running 50 K, climbing the 7 summits (with one leg), completing the Power of 2 and completing the Grand Traverse.  Others are just wanting to “shape up,” run a 5 K, lose 10 pounds, climb Mount Sopris or keep up with their grandkids. 

It doesn’t matter who you are, what age you are, how fit you are, or what goals you have, our program will work for you if you are willing to commit your time and effort.  Our commitment to you is to continue to educate ourselves in this constantly evolving industry in order to provide you with the most progressive training methodologies out there.  Along with the most up to date training methodologies, you will be held accountable, you will be instructed at all times so that you remain safe, and you will meet our community that will soon become your friends and family.

Our community at Defiance is truly something special that is hard to describe in words.  We can’t even begin to count the number of friendships, relationships, marriages and families that have formed inside of our community.  These relationships extend far beyond our gym walls, to families going on vacations together, partners completing The Power of Two and The Grand Traverse together, to going out to parties and seeing that everyone in attendance is a part of our community.   

Remember, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t worked out in 3 years or if you have a goal to run 50 miles, it doesn’t matter if you are 20 or 60, it doesn’t matter if you have had two back surgeries and a hip surgery; our program is for you.  If you are ready to tackle your fitness journey and become a part of a new family, we are ready to help get you there!
